A Look Back at 2019
December 30, 2019
It’s almost 2020! As we get ready to ring in the new year, here’s a look back on some of our favourite moments of 2019.
Happy Birthday, BridgeWay!
This year, BridgeWay Family Centre celebrated 35 years of helping families thrive. We have come a long way in that time! With the support of families like yours, BridgeWay has grown from our single location as the Mississauga Toy Library to being one of the largest family resource centres in Peel Region. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
Maternal Mental Health Awareness Day
On May 1st, 2019, we participated in Maternal Mental Health Awareness Day. Postpartum Mood Disorder (PMD) is the most common side effect of childbearing. If you have recently given birth to or adopted a baby and are feeling overwhelmed or isolated, you are welcome to join us at a weekly discussion group.
Play in the Park
We enjoyed another summer outdoors with our Play in the Park program! Families came out to local parks to have fun in the sun, meet new friends, and participate in free activities. Join us next summer for more outdoor programs like Play in the Park, Mother Goose in the Park, and Gardening.
2019 marked the first year of our new Mom’s Chat program! Moms with children under 2 years can join us every week at our Turtle Creek or Plowman’s Park EarlyON Centres to chat and connect in a safe space.
The Indigenous Network
This year, we teamed up with The Indigenous Network to bring you fun programs where families can learn about Indigenous cultures. Check out our Journey Together program for cultural activities like story-telling, hand drumming, crafts, circle time, and smudging.
