In 1984 a small group of parents saw the need for a support network as they raised their children.
That need for support, for being included and the opportunity to learn and grow from other parents, created the foundation for the Mississauga Toy Library, later renamed to Mississauga Parent-Child Resource Centres and now BridgeWay Family Centre.

By partnering with like-minded agencies and organizations, that small group of parents grew and strengthened their capacity to deliver programs and services to more than 30 different locations across the Region of Peel. Today, parents and families all over Peel benefit from our free prenatal and early learning programs.
More than 30 years later we know that those needs still exist and are experienced by parents and caregivers across all communities. Our vision for families, our agency mission and our values have all been built around those needs.
On any given day a pregnant teen will learn about healthy eating for her and her baby.
A new mother will bond with her baby through infant massage.
A father will benefit from connecting with other parents.
A child will develop the skills that will help him or her to be a successful learner at school.
It started as a good idea; to help each other, their friends and their neighbours to raise their children, and it has now grown to be a culture and a way of life for families all over Peel.
