Oatmeal Cookie Recipe
Makes 24 cookies
Ingredients and Supplies:
- One bowl, one baking sheet, and a fork or whisk
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups oats
- 1 ¾ cups flour (e.g., a mix of whole wheat and white)
- ¾ cup margarine, room temperature
- 1 ½ cup sweetener or sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp oil OR a sheet of parchment paper
- Bonus ingredients: ½ cup raisins, chocolate chips
Instructions:
- In a bowl, add eggs and whisk. Add in vanilla and sugar. Whisk again until consistent.
- Add in your flour, butter, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. Mix together and then add in oats and any special ingredients of your choosing. Once everything is uniform put your mixture in the fridge for 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and start preparing your baking sheet by spraying it with a thin layer of oil or using parchment paper.
- Place scoops of your dough all along the baking sheet. You can choose whatever size you wish – small scoops for regular sized cookies, large scoops for massive ones! Just make sure you space out your scoops of dough (around 3-4 inches apart) so they don’t combine by accident when cooking.
- Have them cook for 10-15 minutes. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before eating – you don’t want to burn your tongue!
- Happily serve as a quick snack or dessert. Enjoy!
