DadHERO: Support for dads affected by incarceration
What is DadHERO?
DadHERO stands for Helping Everyone Realize Opportunities. This project is designed to educate and teach dads affected by incarceration about parenting. DadHERO, brought to you by the Canadian Families and Corrections Network (CFCN) and Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre, offers a Dad Group inside prisons as well as outside for dads who have previously been incarcerated.
Some of the topics discussed in the group include:
- How children grow
- Why children need their dads
- The father-child bond
- How to communicate with their child
- How to communicate with a co-parent

Who can join?
The Dad HERO program welcomes all dads affected by incarceration.
CFCN and Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre are working with dads to keep them connected to their kids, to help them feel better about themselves, to cope with prison, and to strengthen the family unit for reintegration success.
Contact [email protected] for questions about DadHERO.
